Research Projects and Extension

My research and extension work centers on ecological horticulture, invasive plant management, and restoring plant communities with regionally appropriate native species. I’m particularly interested in how horticultural practices can reduce invasion risk and restore ecosystem function on a small scale. This includes using invasive plant management strategies plus thoughtful revegetation using native plants to provide habitat, stabilize soils, and support biodiversity. I connect applied research with management, to emphasize evidence‑based strategies to help land managers, green industry professionals, and home gardeners improve ecosystem function in managed landscapes.
