The genus Salix has been the focus of my research since the beginning of my career more than 20 years ago. Willows are a major group of woody plants cultivated around the world, play important roles in many ecosystems, and serve as model organisms for basic research as well as a wide range of environmental applications. My research involves willow taxonomy and the exploration of willow’s potential for environmental applications and ecological engineering.
